Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me:

April Pages

Although the month of April has been one of stay-at-home orders with not a lot of places open, the month still seemed to fly by!

Pondering on Psalm 46:10

This is one of those popular verses that gets a lot of graphics and merchandise attributed to it. Particularly the 'be still' part that begins the verse. But what does that really mean?

Traveler's Notebook Inserts

Recently I have dove into setting up a Traveler's Notebook -- well, two actually!

The inserts that came with the covers along with the ones I purchased were these plain kraft paper ones. I wanted to dress them up a little...

Mary Magdalene - Diligent Service (Part Two)

Welcome back to our study on Mary Magdalene... we left her as she was coming to the tomb on Sunday morning. She was coming to finish preparing Jesus' body for burial, however, we see that she had a different experience than expected.

We find her in the garden on the first Resurrection Sunday in John 20:1-18.

Mary Magdalene - Diligent Service (Part One)

Mary Magdalene has a legacy of diligent service. She was a faithful servant to Christ and the disciples as they traveled, as Jesus went to the cross, and as he was carried to the tomb. Her great devotion was rewarded with her being the first to witness the resurrected Lord.

Pondering on Psalm 16:11

A week or so ago when I was working in my devotional book, I had wrote down a verse that I thought was very adequate to describe how I was feeling and that I felt went with the devotion.

I must have been rather impressed by it because I ended up writing it twice on the same page!

What's in a Name?

Welcome to Markings In My Journal!

Nine years ago I began a blog... Home Designs by Amanda. It was a craft blog with a smattering of family stuff included. Over the years it would get more or less attention, and for a while was even attached to my 'business' as a Stampin' Up demonstrator -- that didn't last too long! Then, not long after that, it went dormant.

I enjoyed working on posts and even doing videos on my YouTube channel, but no longer am I feeling attached to a crafting emphasis. So, the name no longer seemed adequate and the switching of a website name seemed overwhelming, leading to ultimately developing a new website. However, I am just integrating the new name, Markings In My Journal, into my existing social media as to not have a gazillion accounts.

But why Markings In My Journal?
Glad you asked!
